WV Communications offers a range of flight termination exciter / encoder models, from the quad-mode EX2001 supporting all major mission formats to dedicated IRIG units in low- and high-power configurations.

EX2001 Series — Quad-Mode Exciter / Encoder

The EX2001 Series is a quad-mode flight termination exciter that supports EFTS, IRIG, FSK, and High Alpha formats. It is dependable, versatile, and quickly and easily configurable.

  • Select encoding mode (EFTS, IRIG, FSK, and High Alpha) by a single remote command or push of a soft-key button
  • Main functions adjustable via touchscreen or Ethernet
  • Tone frequency stability ±0.01% maximum
  • RF carrier output power adjustable from -5 to +10 dBm in 0.5 dB steps (0 to -127 dBm and 20W options available)
  • RF carrier stability within ±0.0005% (±5 PPM) maximum
  • Frequency range 370.0-450.0 MHz
  • 1.0 kHz frequency steps
  • Remote communications protocol: Ethernet UDP/IP, USB
  • International autoselect AC mains input voltage, 110/220 VAC

Touchscreen Interface

Settings — set RF carrier frequency, set RF carrier output level, set tone deviation, and select mode (EFTS, IRIG, FSK, High Alpha).

Commands — tri-color buttons quickly show commands that have been defined, not defined, or are currently being transmitted.

Tones — the display is used to select individual tones and show which tones are currently being transmitted.

  • Carrier frequency range options available, 370.0-450.0 MHz

  • Any combination of flight termination formats: EFTS, IRIG, FSK, High Alpha
  • Optional standard TTL discrete tones or commands, input/output, any polarity

EX1019 Series — IRIG Exciter, 5/200 W

The EX1019 Series is an IRIG flight termination exciter with 5/200 watt output, command switches with guard covers, and a 5.7-inch TFT LCD with improved image and contrast.

  • 100.0 kHz frequency steps; smaller carrier frequency steps optional
  • Remote communications protocol: Ethernet standard UDP/IP and USB serial
  • Firmware option provides redundant capability between two units — no additional hardware required
